This very complicated applique quilt was designed by Ricky Tims and made for me to give to one of our ministers in honor of his twenty years of service at River Road Church, Baptist.

2009_Witnessing Star 58 X 58

2009_Witnessing Star 58 X 58
The Witnessing Star is a replica of a quilt made for First Baptist Ft. Yates/Long Soldier, ND by First Baptist Hurst, TX. It is a great honor to the Lakota Indian to receive an eight star quilt which has replaced the buffalo hide as a give of honor and comfort.

2009_Tree Skirt

2009_Tree Skirt  47 X 47
2009_Table Runner  18 X 48
Since our tree skirt had been used for much too long, I put together some reds, greens, and golds to make a new one. I made the matching table runner with the left over fabrics.

2009_Scrappy Trees

2009_Scrappy Trees 22 X 36
Although I usually do not like paper piecing, I couldn't resist these scrappy trees with a scrappy border.

2009_Rag T-Shirt

2009_Rag T-Shirt 48 X 48
I used the left over pieces from the T-Shirt Quilt to make this rag quilt which turned out to be soft and cuddly.

2009_Parables

2009_Parables 46 X 48
After embroidering these parables I put them together with some religious fabric to for this quilt. It is available for use by Sunday school teachers who would like to borrow it for their teaching.

Here are some more quilts made from left over blocks and other fabrics. I make most of these to give to charity. I simply cannot throw away those little scraps of fabric, so I have to stitch them into quilts.

The Teacher Tweet in the middle is the focal point for this experimental design made for a teacher friend who was facing cancer for the second time.

Here is a closeup of the Teacher Tweet embroidery by Embroidery Library.

2008-Fractured Jack-O-Lantern

2008-Fractured Jack-O-Lantern  37 X 37
I made this quilt after attending a workshop conducted by Ricky Tims.

2008_Stars & Stripes

2008_Stars & Stripes   61 X 66
2008_Stars & Stripes  41 X 49
I made the larger quilt from a kit, but when I finished, it was too large for the spot where I wanted to hand it, so I made the smaller one from leftovers and a few extra pieces of fabric. It was fun sewing together all those curved seams.

2008_Potpourri-1  49 X 78-Johnathan

2008_Potpourri-2  49 X 79

2008_Potpourri-2  49 X 79
These are three quilts I made for charity from left over blocks and assorted fabric. Johnathan chose to take the first one with him to use at college.

2008_Old to New

2008_Old to New  37 X 37
We were given three antique blocks and challenged to incorporate them into a quilt. I added some embroidery designs and some old looking fabric to form the design.

2008_Stained Glass Manger X4

2008_Stained Glass Manger  X4  42 X 60
I made four quilts with this design, one for each of the children and one for us. It took me a log time to free-motion quilt each section in a different pattern.

2008_Georgia Rae's Horses

2008_Georgia Rae's Horses  8 2x 98
I selected this fabric because Georgia Rae was very fond of horse. By the time I gave it to her for her high school graduation, she had finished with that phase.

2008 Charity Rag Quilts

2008_Charity-1&2  29 X 36

2008_Charity-3&4  29 X 36

2008_Charity-5  29 X 36

To make a cozy rag quilt, you simply cut two large squares of flannel and sew a diagonal cross in the middle, sew together with large seams and clip the seams at about 1/4" intervals. When you you wash and dry them, the fluff up or "bloom" to make a nice little quilt for a child or a lap.

2008_Black Pinwheels

2008_Black Pinwheels  56 X 88

2008_Johnathan-18  84 X 104
Pinwheel quilts are easy to make and so much fun. The full sized quilt was Johnathan's high school graduation quilt.

2007 Snowmen

2007-Single Snowman 17 X 20

After I made these 3D snowmen, I had to make one more small one just for fun.

2007-Sams Flowers

2007-Sams Flowers 46 X 52
These windows contain pictures of some of the flowers Sam had grown in his garden.

2007 Leaded Windows

2007-Batik Window 29 X 38

2007-Floral Window 45 X 54

These leaded window quilts are made by by tracing the pattern onto paper-backed fusible web on the back of black fabric, carefully cutting out all the piece,s and attaching them to a large background piece of fabric. Next comes tedious stitching around the edge of black piece which permanently attaches the leading and quilts at the same time.
