2012-Twelve Days of Christmas

2012-Twelve Days of Christmas 66 X 66
I used some Christmas fabrics to frame the embroidered Twelve Days of Christmas.

2012-Scrappy Wedding Ring

2012-Scrappy Wedding Ring 90 X 99
For a long time I have wanted to make a double wedding ring quilt, but this turned out to be very difficult to make. The pieces did not seem to lie flat when I got them all sewn together so I had to make the quilt flat with the quilting which in itself was rather complicated to accomplish.

2012-Sam's Valentine

2012-Sam's Valentine 56 X 64
I made this quilt with the heart border as a gift for Sam. The hearts were actually easier than they look. The hard part was attaching the curvy binding.

2012-RRCB Display

I was proud to have some of my quilts displayed in the display case at River Road Baptist Church.

2012 Potpourri Quilts

2012-Potpourri 1  40 X 56

2012-Potpourri 2  40 X 56
2012-Potpourri 3  40 X 56
2012-Potpourri 4  40 X 56
2012-Potpourri 5  50 X 60
2012-Potpourri 6  48 X 60
2012-Potpourri 7  44 X 59
2012-Potpourri 8  47 X 64
2012-Potpourri 9  48 X 60
2012-Potpourri 10  48 X 60

2012-Potpourri 11  48 X 60

These are the potpourri quilts I have made during 2012. To make these quilts I just sew fabrics together, sometime in somewhat of a pattern, to make quilts to give for charity. They are usually quilted in all-over designs which are easy to do.

2012-Merry-Go-Round

2012-Merry-Go-Round 99 X 86
Occasionally I actually do make a full size bed quilt.

2012-Left Over Pinwheels

2012-Left Over Pinwheels 42 X 42
You may have noticed that my 2012 theme seems to be using up left over fabrics. I'm trying to clean up my fabric closet.

2012 Patriotic Little Quilts

2012-Kitchen Quilts 7 X 7

2012-Patriotic 15 X 22
These little quilts are actually red, white, and blue, but the blue with metallic gold stars do not actually look blue. Of course, you could call these Kitchen Quilts "Potholders" if you wish.

2012-Happy Frogs

2012-Happy Frogs 51 X 51
These frogs with all their turns and curves were difficult to applique, but the design was still interesting to produce.

2012-Happy Earthworks

2012-Happy Earthworks 41 X 48
Another applique that was fun to make. All these circles turn into smiling earthworms.

2012-Flower Pot

2012-Flower Pot 12 X 12
I decided to challenge myself with this little applique with the complicated border.

2012 Flannel Rags

2012-Flannel Rag 31 X 31

2012-Flannel Rag 44 X 44
Rag quilts, especially those make from flannel, are soft and cozy. Since I had some flannel fabric on my collection, I decided to use it in this way.

2012-Dogs and Cats

2012-Dogs and Cats 58 X 58
This is another applique quilt made from left-over fabric.

2012-Carpenters Star

2012-Carpenters Star 58 X 58
This pattern gave me opportunities to make half-square triangles. The quilting was rather time consuming because I had to change thread colors so many times.

2012-Birds in a Tree

2012-Birds in a Tree 23 X 30
It was fun to applique this little quilt, but the quilting was the most difficult part.

2012-Around Town

2012-Around Town 50 X 50
This pattern attracted my attention because of its use of scraps, but for some reason, I did not realize how many small pieces it contained until I started making it.

2012 - Jelly Rolls

2012 - Jelly Rolls 51 X 61
I've seen several very attractive jelly roll quilts made by other quilters, but I am not very happy with the way mine turned out.

2012 - Gaelic Blessing

2012 - Gaelic Blessing  13 X 18
I just can not resist making more little quilts with the Gaelic Blessing designs.

2011-Tree-Mendous

2011-Tree-Mendous 19 X 17
This little tree quilt was made entirely in the embroidery hoop. The design is such that some of the seams did not make my embroidery machine very happy because of their thickness.

2011-Ribbons

2011-Ribbons 75 X 90
Part of the reason for making this quilt was to demonstrate a variety of quilting designs in the white centers. The ribbon design was somewhat complicated to put together and get all the pieces in the right place.

2011-Eighteen Potpourri Quilts

2011-Potpourri-1 60 X 60

2011-Potpourri-2 50 X 60
2011-Potpourri-3 60 X 60
All these Potpourri quilts were made for charity. Some went to Standing Rock Indian Reservation in North and South Dakota and some went to McGuire Veterans' Hospital in Richmond, VA.
